Kathleen Legendre
Associate Attorney
Kathleen Legendre brings more than fifteen years of experience serving families and children throughout Louisiana. Her career has been rooted in family law, juvenile advocacy, access to justice initiatives, and community service, giving her a well-rounded and compassionate approach to representing clients during some of life’s most difficult transitions.
Before joining Zeringue & Associates Law Firm, Kathleen worked extensively with courts, civil legal aid organizations, and domestic violence programs to expand legal services for vulnerable individuals and families. As Managing Attorney for The Pro Bono Project in New Orleans, she represented foster children in Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court, coordinated volunteer attorneys for complex case matters, and helped develop self-represented litigant materials in partnership with both the 24th Judicial District Court and Orleans Civil District Court.
Kathleen’s dedication to children and family advocacy recently led to her appointment as Public Defender for Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases in Slidell City Court. In this role, she represents children and families involved in sensitive juvenile proceedings, further strengthening the depth of experience she brings to custody disputes, parenting matters, and family stability issues.
At the firm, Kathleen assists clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, community property matters, and related domestic issues. Clients value her thoughtful guidance, steady courtroom presence, and ability to balance practical legal strategy with compassion and understanding.
Kathleen’s professional path reflects a longstanding commitment to service, advocacy, and improving access to justice throughout Louisiana.
